Apple Blossoms in May: Part 2

Here is Keri's wedding aisle. We found the perfect orchard for the wedding, McIntosh Orchards in South Haven. They were so excited and immediately fell in love with the area that they've even decided to have the reception there! The owner Bruce McIntosh was great, he showed us around and even let us taste test their Sparkling Apple Cider Wine...I took a bottle home!

I am so excited to help Keri and Mike plan their special day. I love unique venues and this will definitely be unique...anyone have a brush hog for rent?!

Food Much Appreciated

A question I am asked a lot is if food is required to be served to hired help like the pastor, the photographer and the wedding coordinator. My advice...please feed everyone involved in the wedding, these people work really hard all day long ensuring the success of your event and most often don't have the time to grab a bite to eat until dinner and it is extremly appreciated.

Another great tip...if serving a buffet and having the tables released one at a time, it's a great idea to let the table with the photographer and coordinator to go right away, this ensures that they are finished eating in time for cake cutting, etc.

Apple Blossoms in May

I am so excited to meet with Keri and Mike tomorrow. Keri's dream is to have their ceremony amongst blossoming apple trees in the spring. I love it! To all you bride's out there, have a dream and make it come true. Whether you want to be wed in a church, on the beach, on horseback, or in an orchard...just make it happen. There is nothing out of reach these days, traditions are made to be broken. Every bride and groom deserves the perfect day, I hope it comes true for all of you.

"I dreamed of a wedding of elaborate elegance; a church filled with flowers and friends. I asked him what kind of wedding he wished for; he said one that would make me his wife." - UNKNOWN

Dana and Jeremy - May 10, 2008

Congratulations to Dana and Jeremy!

What a beautiful weekend for a wedding, the weather was just perfect! The ceremony took place at St. Cecilia's Music Society in downtown GR and the reception was at the Top of the B.O.B., both are great locations. I had such a fun time working with Dana over the last few months. We even became walking buddies, so hopefully I will continue to see her occassionally.

I was fortunate to meet some other wedding vendors as well. Amy Carroll of Amy Carroll Photography is an incredible photographer, very fun and creative, I cannot wait to see the pictures! The bride and bridemaids had so much fun being divas for Amy's camera. I hope I will be lucky enough to work with her again in the future. Also, I worked with Reverand Gust Bass of Forever Twogether officiant services, the service was very meaningful, it was very nice.

Broadway Nails

Okay, how many of you remember the Lee Press on Nails that we grew up with? You stuck them on with practically a piece of two sided tape and couldn't touch anything or even pull your pants up in the bathroom without one popping off? Well as anything else, they have evolved. I was hanging out with my bride and her bridesmaids today before rehearsal and they pulled these boxes from their purses and started putting on nails. But here's the thing...they looked great and so natural!! Even more so than my acrilyic ones!! The brand is Broadway Nails and these particular ones are called "Real Life French". The girls said they stay on for a couple of days (long enough for a wedding weekend). I was so impressed, I'm thinking of taking mine off and just doing these everytime I have a wedding!!!

Rehearsal Night

Whew! I am so glad to have another rehearsal night behind me, I came home, poured myself a glass of wine and put my feet up. I tell you what, the rehearsals make me more nervous than the actual wedding day. I think it's because I want everything to run smooth and everyone to be comfortable in their responsibilities for the ceremony that I get so stressed. Plus the night before the wedding the brides are at their wits end. But I tell them all the same thing..."Deep Breaths", I like to think it helps.
